The Moonshot Innovation Series is presented by Groundswell Startups and the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast in an effort to bring today’s most disruptive technologists and creatives together. The series serves to celebrate innovators who are building next generation products and services in the region, increase exposure to opportunities for partnership and collaboration, and increase access to free industry-expert mentorship and resources.
This series is open to anyone committed to building a disruptive hardware or software product. Applicants will informally pitch their concepts June 29. Groundswell mentors will select 12 candidates to receive individualized mentor support each Wednesday for the next 3 months. Companies will walk away with a finalized pitch deck, executive summary, a vetted financial model and pro forma.
PROTOTYPE CHALLENGE SPONSORED BY “MADE IN BREVARD”
After months of preparation, six select companies will showcase a final pitch deck in front of accredited investors from across the southeast. The winning pitch will walk away with a no-strings cash prize and awards totalling $2,000. Hardware and software companies across the county are invited to share in the festivities and set up booths throughout the tech village.
SPACE COAST CYBERSECURITY CONFERENCE
Leaders in cybersecurity across the southeastern United States as well as emerging academics and corporate leaders meet to showcase next-generation tech applications and discuss what’s next for a booming industry. This event marks the beginning of a two-day conference that features speakers with serious tech chops and some of the finest craft beer in the state.
INDIAN RIVER LAGOON HACKATHON
This event aims to unite the hundreds of leading organizations who offer next-generation environmental solutions in Space Coast, FL. The public is invited to watch leading environmental experts and public officials reverse engineer our existing efforts to Save The Lagoon with design thinking professionals at Groundswell headquarters.
A live hackathon during the event will feature more than a dozen engineers committed to developing a more inexpensive monitoring system for the lagoon. The monitoring system is a key first step to sustaining the health of the lagoon long-term. Participants will be invited to share their solutions. One select engineer will walk away with a cash prize of $2,000 and an opportunity to test and adopt the solution with a cohort of preselected riverside residents.
Tis’ the season of Florida pitch competitions galore. This four-week startup pitch intensive runs Feb 21 to March 14 and provides new startups with an opportunity work with Groundswell mentors. The experts at Groundswell’s nonprofit high tech incubator are committed to helping teams secure wins for Space Coast, FL. It begins by equipping founders with the tools they need to apply for $150,000 pitch competitions and accelerator programs throughout the state. SPACE COAST AI FEST
Artificial intelligence has infiltrated the most unsuspecting of all industries. Join us for a 3-hour session on how Space Coast companies are implementing practical implications of enterprise AI and transforming business productivity. The evening will include two panel sessions specific to news tech and future tech for big data, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning.
