Groundswell Startups is partnering with StarterStudio to bring Idea and Build Stage Accelerators  to Brevard County. Our partnership will allow Groundswell Startups to utilize StarterStudio’s well-respected, results-driven curriculum along with our diverse network of startup-specific mentors and subject matter experts to empower founders to discover their potential, take risks, test ideas, and take action.

Programs will be conducted virtually, and both programs will begin the week of July 27th. Programming is open to Brevard County companies only.

Ready to Apply?

Complete the application and tell us about your business idea, and your stage of development. Based on the information you provide, you will be admitted into one of the two available programs. You will have the chance to indicate on the application if you are interested in one specific program, or whether you would like to be considered for both. Program descriptions, learning milestones, and time commitments are provided below for both the Idea Stage and Build Stage programs.

IDEA STAGE 

The focus of this accelerator is to help the entrepreneurial-minded validate their business idea, collect feedback from potential customers, determine a sustainable revenue model, and learn how to communicate effectively about their business.

YOU WILL LEARN:

  • Value Proposition and Customer Discovery
  • Customer Segments, Validating Your Market, and Competition
  • Customer Relationships, Messaging, and Channels
  • Pitching Fundamentals
  • Minimum Viable Product
  • Revenue, Costs, and Pricing
  • Legal Structures
  • Co-Founders, Team Members, Outsourcing

 

THIS MAY BE THE BEST FIT FOR YOU IF:

  • Your idea is still in the very early stages
  • You are not working full time on the business
  • You do not yet have a minimum viable product (MVP)
  • You do not yet have a deep understanding of your customer(s), their pain points, and their needs
  • You are not sure how your company can make money

 

IDEA Stage Accelerator (10 weeks)

Cost $400

Sessions: 1 session per week, Wednesday evenings (3 hours total session time)

BUILD STAGE 

Now, it’s time to hit the ground running and get your business off the ground. In the Build Stage, you will learn how to build, sustain, and grow your business without reliance on venture capital funding and investment, but rather with a focus on customer acquisition. This is commonly the most difficult (and overlooked) of the three phases, but often this can be the make or break point.

YOU WILL LEARN:

  • Business Infrastructure, Operational Planning and Scaling
  • Go to Market Strategy
  • Public Speaking, Perfecting Your Customer Pitch
  • Company Culture
  • Sales Management
  • Insurances and Liability
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Funding Options and Sources

 

THIS MAY BE THE BEST FIT FOR YOU IF:

  • You have a minimum viable product (MVP)
  • You have your MVP in the hands of a few potential clients (paid or unpaid)
  • You are ready to start building a team
  • You have a deep understanding of your customer(s), their pain points, and their needs

BUILD Stage Accelerator (12 weeks)

Cost: $650 per company

Sessions:

Weeks 1, 6, and 12: 4 sessions per week (8-12 hours total session time)

Weeks 2-5, 7-11: 2 sessions per week (4-6 hours total of session time)
